Amanda Manufacturing Welcomes Students for MFG Day 2024

October 19, 2024

For Manufacturing Day 2024, Deshler’s Amanda Manufacturing welcomed students to their facilities in Logan, Ohio and Livonia, Michigan.

Manufacturing Day (MFG Day) is a national event held annually on the first Friday of October to celebrate and showcase the importance of manufacturing in our economy. It’s also a day to promote manufacturing’s impact on local communities, and highlight the rewarding career opportunities it offers.

For us at Deshler Group, Manufacturing Day is an opportunity to showcase the people behind the products we create and to inspire the next generation to consider skilled manufacturing careers. We want tomorrow’s manufacturing workforce to have the knowledge and experience they need to succeed.

In Michigan, students visited from Westfield Preparatory High School and in Ohio, from the Tri-County Career Center and Logan-Hocking School District. More than 75 young people were in attendance.

Plant managers led tours, introduced students to our products and processes, and answered questions about working at Amanda Manufacturing.

From Deshler President Robert Gruschow:

“Our company’s experience over the last few years tells us that we’re ready…to work together to develop a sustained campaign that maintains our connections with students throughout the year, beyond graduation and into the early days of their professional lives.

The need addressed by programs like MFG Day is clear — Michigan’s prosperity is inextricably tied to the success of its manufacturing base, and the rate of predicted growth is cause for urgent concern.”
