Meet Our People: Lisa Lunsford, Co-Founder & CEO of GS3 Global

January 19, 2025

“At GS3, we’re committed to creating solutions that focus on sustainable manufacturing practices, reducing our carbon footprint, and producing better products. We take pride in being the go-to resource for hard-to-source parts and simplifying complex processes.”

Lisa Lunsford is the Chief Executive Officer of Global Strategic Supply Solutions (GS3 Global) a solutions-based metal-forming company where the intersection of manufacturing expertise and mobility is creating solutions that power mobility and the next generation of energy infrastructure. The company modifies, engineers and assembles aluminum and steel alloys for use in various industries, primarily automotive, petrochemical and alternative energy distribution and management applications.

In 2010, despite the harsh economic climate of the time, Lisa co-founded GS3 with Robert Gruschow of Deshler Group, confident in their goal to serve as a responsive customer partner, create jobs and drive innovation. That courage paid off, as GS3 continues to grow and evolve, add new jobs, and win regional and national awards, including being recognized by the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) as one of their 50 Companies to Watch and the MMBDC Regional Supplier of the Year. In 2021, GS3 Global was selected as one of 13 U.S. companies to pilot the Stellantis-National Black Business League Black Supplier Development Program, created to support the development of Black-owned businesses for future opportunities within the public and private sectors.

Lisa herself has been recognized twice as one of Automotive News’ 100 Leading Women in Automotive. In 2021, her contributions to the automotive industry over the last decade were recognized with the Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation’s Individual Industry Achievement Award. She has been named as a Woman Of Excellence by the Michigan Chronicle, one of 100 Crain’s Detroit Business’ Most Influential Women In Michigan and an Ernst & Young US Entrepreneur Of The Year for Michigan.

Currently, Lisa serves as Board Chair of MICHauto, the state’s only automotive and mobility association with a mission to promote, retain, and grow Michigan’s signature industry. It provides a platform for industry leaders and stakeholders to engage in advocacy, discuss industry priorities, attract and retain high-tech talent, and create an innovation-forward environment to support next-generation mobility developments. In 2024, she was named to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Board of Directors. She is also a board member of The Children’s Center – Detroit and serves as an advisory board member to the Mike Ilitch School of Business Global Supply Chain Management program.
